Welcome

Welcome to my little Beach Boys page
I call this site ‘The Brother Years’, which fans know as the years between 1970-1986, although it does not deal specifically with just those years.
There isn’t much on this site as yet, but DO check out the SMiLE screensaver from the downloads section. It is Flash-based and features a few sounds and animation, featuring all the pages from the famous unreleased booklet.

Why the Indian?
The Indian is from a life-size sculpture by Cyrus Dallin called Appeal to the Great Spirit (cast in 1909) which stands outside the Museum Of Fine Arts in
Boston. It was used as the logo for the BeachBoys’ own record label Brother Records and first seen on their 1967 release SMiLEY SMiLE.
When BeachBoy Carl Wilson was asked in 1975, he said the indian was chosen
because Carl’s grandfather believed there was a spiritual Indian ‘guide’ who watched over Brian, Dennis and Carl from the “other side”. The choice of the logo was Brian’s. Carl called the logo, “The Last Horizon”.
